AI transparency

How SpektraCare works

SpektraCare uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), a technique where the AI searches a curated knowledge base of legislation, statutory guidance, and trusted sources before generating an answer. This means responses are grounded in real documents, not made up.

Every answer goes through a relevance check and a hallucination filter. If the AI isn't confident in its answer, it tells you, and suggests where to find human help.

Limitations

  • SpektraCare provides information, not professional advice
  • It cannot access your personal records or council systems
  • It may not reflect the very latest policy changes
  • It cannot make care decisions or eligibility determinations
  • Complex cases always need a qualified social worker

Found an error?

If SpektraCare gives you information that seems wrong, please let us know. We review every report and update our knowledge base regularly. Contact us at hello@spektracare.co.uk

Accessibility

What we test

  • WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across all pages
  • Keyboard navigation: no mouse required
  • Screen reader compatibility (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
  • Minimum 4.5:1 colour contrast ratios
  • Minimum 44×44px touch targets
  • Respects prefers-reduced-motion
  • Plain English: reading level suitable for general public

What we acknowledge

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time achievement. We regularly test with assistive technologies and welcome feedback on how we can improve. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, please contact us.
